I have a tradition to come back every year to my homeland. When I was young, I dreamt of living somewhere else but not there. My dream came true. And now I dream of visiting my homeland more often. Since I have left these places, whenever I come back, I start to see everything differently. Noticing details full of nostalgia.
There are two works present in the exhibition Wooden Architecture. The photos were taken during my visits to homeland.
First one is an old fence noticed by me along the local route. It looks abandoned and useless in the place where it stays. But I saw it as a symbolic border that separates me from my homeland’s beautiful landscapes.
The second one is the old water tower. The building was built in 1916. There is no function for this building anymore. But it still stands in the center of my hometown and reminds everyone about times long before us.
The exhibition Wooden Architecture takes place whole February'26 at two locations:
Moscow, Reading-Library on behalf of I.S. Turgenev — photo work “Water tower” is presented here.
Kimry town, Local History museum — photo work “Timeless” is presented here.
